Easy install:
No formal ground preparation is required as it can usually be laid over most existing surfaces including soil, concrete or old bark if necessary. Installation is as easy as emptying the 10 kilo bags into your retained area which can be created by digging into the ground and filling back up to the surrounding land level, or by bordering the area with rubber kerbstones to create a 'pit' above ground.
Coverage calculations
8 kilos of product per square metre for landscaping without footfall @ 25mm (1")
12 kilos of product per square metre for busy landscaping and low level playground areas @ 38mm (1 ½")
16 kilos of product per square metre* for higher level playground use @ 50mm (2") (or more as required)
Pricing policy:
We always supply in easy to handle 10 kilo bags and all colours are the same price.
Pricing can be volume related and coverage rates can vary with some specifications so a unit price cannot be relied upon so please call us with the dimensions of your area and we will calculate the total project cost for you.
However if you would like a rough guide then perhaps allow £10 - £20 (including vat) per square metre:
One pallet is equal to 3.3 cubic metres / one metric ton / 100 bags
Whilst we carefully monitor and select finished product as being fit for purpose there are always natural variations in colours and shred size within our normal manufacturing tolerances so any pictures or samples provided should not be taken as a guarantee of what we will achieve with every order. If you should have a specific demand for extra controls or filtering please explain this to us before placing your order. At times you may also notice a surface dust in the bags when it is first delivered; this is also perfectly normal and should fall off or wash off during its initial uses.
*Test data to BSEN1177 criteria shows that the Ecoscape method of production produces a unique safety performance, and over a loose sub surface will exceed a critical fall height of over 3m at a depth of just 50mm. As this is suitable for most people we use this reference in the coverage calculations given above. However please note that there is no formal requirement for safety surfacing to be used in residential situations and commercial or public areas should rely on their own risk assessment. This means we can never give specific recommendations, but will always be happy to quote for, and supply any volume that you request.
