| No generators; barrows; fork trucks; large lorries etc. - Ecoscape Mulch and binder are delivered palletized in small units for ease of onsite delivery and handling. This should also enable you to work directly alongside the site. | Use a suitable paddle mixer (not a cement mixer) - this is important - please ask us for advice if needed. | Other simple equipment includes gloves, trowel, depth block, cloth, funnel, measuring jug; bucket and a geo textile ground covering. | |

| Softbond will cover over any existing ground surface, Grass; Old bark; Soil; Concrete; Old tiles; Old Wet pour etc. It will hold on steep inclines and can cope with ground movement beneath if needed. Softbond is completely porous so creates no additional drainage issues. | To create a softbond mix; first open a 10 kilo bag of Ecoscape mulch. | ||

| Place only 1 bag in the mixer (even if it can hold more) and start turning. | Measure binder at between 1.5-2 kilos per 10 kilo bag of mulch, depending on the finish required. | Ensure the full measure of binder goes into the mulch and allow for the residue in the jug. | The binder will initially sit on the mulch and then gradually seep through and the blend will start to 'fold' - normally 3-5 minutes (or longer in colder weather). |

| Only once the shred is 'evenly wet', then empty the mix into a bucket. | Transfer to site and pour onto area. Tip: Ask us for advice on the best mix of mulch colours to use. |
No need for heavy tools; and the recommended 40mm depth can be laid in just one pass. | |

| Easy to work, just smooth out with a floor trowel and 'pad down' according to your own project needs. Use of a roller or other mechanical compacting tools is not normally required. | Keep tools clean by periodically wiping with a damp cloth. | Use a block to gauge consistent depth. | |

| Edges can be tapered onto open ground; no need for borders; or they can finish sharp to suit – easy to continue with a different colour if desired. | A two man install team should achieve at least 50 sq metres per day. | Lack of heavy equipment means less disruption to rest of site. | |

Important notes regarding the role of Ecoscape in Softbond installations:
Ecoscape does not sell 'Softbond'. We are a producer of rubber mulch and a reseller of polyurethane binder. The term 'Softbond' is used when the two products are mixed together. Fundamentally the Ecoscape Softbond process is so simple it has enabled many private individuals and new companies, schools, landscapers and other organizations to self install very successfully and there is a growing reputation that 'anyone can do it'. But please consider that it is still a practical process with many variables which can affect the finished surface and therefore our guidelines should be taken as such. They are not instructions. Ecoscape policy is to be a materials supplier only and therefore does not provide pre site inspections or have installation teams of our own. Ecoscape cannot therefore entertain any complaints or technical comments once our products have been mixed. If you feel you would like extra professional help we would be pleased to forward any requests for onsite services to an independent company if requested.
