EcoScape Softbond™ Installation Storyboard
EcoScape Softbond™ will cover over grass or any other surface without needing any sub base, primer or other preparation. However for best results the ground or the material should not be wet at the outset and ideally it should not be rained on during the first 24 hours after installation
EcoScape Mulch and Binder are delivered for ease of on site delivery and handling.
Suitable mixer
Open the 10 kilo mulch bags
Place in mixer and start turning
Measure binder at 15% by weight
Add binder to mulch
Allow to mix until wet (approx 3 mins)
Empty mix into bucket
Transfer to site and pour onto area
No need for heavy tools or rollers
Easy to work, just smooth out with a floor trowel
Keep tools clean by wiping with diesel
Use a block to gauge consistent depth
Edges can be tapered onto open ground; no need for borders...
... or can finish sharp to suit - easy to continue with a different colour if desired
Quick single layer install @ 30-40sqm per day
Lack of heavy equipment means less disruption torest of site
‘Next day’ joins, and future repairs are easily blended in.

Important notes regarding the role of Ecoscape in Softbond installations:
Ecoscape does not sell 'Softbond'. We are a producer of rubber mulch and a reseller of polyurethane binder. The term 'Softbond' is used when the two products are mixed together. Fundamentally the Ecoscape Softbond process is so simple it has enabled many private individuals and new companies, schools, landscapers and other organizations to self install very successfully and there is a growing reputation that 'anyone can do it'. But please consider that it is still a practical process with many variables which can affect the finished surface and therefore our guidelines should be taken as such. They are not instructions. Ecoscape policy is to be a materials supplier only and therefore does not provide pre site inspections or have installation teams of our own. Ecoscape cannot therefore entertain any complaints or technical comments once our products have been mixed. If you feel you would like extra professional help we would be pleased to forward any requests for onsite services to an independent company if requested.
